Amid tight security, tension is now building up at the Adamawa State collation centre as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have returned to continue the exercise days after its suspension.
The administrative Secretary of the commission in Adamawa, Adamu Gujungu, who is to replace the erring Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa Ari, is equally at the collation centre.
Channels Television reports that the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, will also be at the collation centre.
Following the alleged illegal declaration of the All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate, Aisha Binani Dahiru as the winner of the election over the incumbent, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party by the REC, Ari, INEC had suspended further announcement of the results.
