Police operatives in Bauchi have arrested eight suspects who are believed to be members of a syndicate of Sara-Suka in the area. The suspects were arrested for alleged culpable homicide, and their arrests were made during rapid response squad raids in their different hideouts.
The Bauchi State Police Command issued a statement which revealed that Mustapha Abdulmumini (20yrs), Kabiru Haruna (23yrs), Sulaiman Al-Mustapha (18yrs), Umar Ibrahim (19yrs), Ibrahim Ahmad (19yrs), Sunusi Abdulhamid (18yrs), Idris Malam (19yrs), and Ibrahim Mohammed (23yrs) were arrested for killing one Abbas Jibrin, also known as Timo (23yrs) of Nasarawa Jahun ward at Wakilin Birni Rice Mill, Bauchi, sometime last year.
According to Command Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the Bauchi State Police Command swiftly consolidated the gains of the overwhelming enthusiasm and support of the citizens in the state. The command carried out series and sustained operations in black sports, criminal hideouts, and kidnappers’ camps at Dutsen Gobirawa, Dajin Madam Forest, Borkoto hills, and Yankari Games Reserve forest in Alkaleri LGA. These operations led to the successful recovery of assorted weapons as exhibits.
Efforts are currently underway to trace the fleeing hoodlums, and investigations into the matter continue.
