Police operatives foil armed robbery In Abuja’s Apo resettlement

A group of armed robbers’ attempt to raid a house in Apo Resettlement, Abuja was foiled by the Nigeria Police Force operatives attached to the Apo Division. According to the FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the police received a distress call from Zone E Extension in Apo Resettlement at around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, and swiftly mobilized to the scene.

On getting to the scene, the hoodlums, on sighting the police team, fled in different directions, abandoning an ash-coloured BMW vehicle with Reg. No: ABJ 440 KX containing three plasma televisions and two laptops, which they had stolen from one of the houses. They also abandoned a red Volkswagen Golf with Reg. No. LUY 899 KV that was similarly sighted around the vicinity with its engine running.

The gallant police operatives chased the fleeing vehicle and intercepted it at the Games village roundabout. The driver was identified as one Dahiru Muazu and another person, Halifa Hamisu was in the car and were arrested. They and the exhibits recovered are in police custody, while investigations are still ongoing to apprehend the other fleeing suspects.

The swift response of the police officers to the distress call was key to foiling the armed robbery attempt, and their gallantry in chasing and intercepting the fleeing suspects should serve as a warning to other criminals that the police are always ready to protect the citizens and their properties
