Ekiti community on edge as man found hanging on tree

The community of Ado-Ekiti in Nigeria’s Ekiti State was thrown into disarray as they woke up to the body of a young man, Tunde Akindunbi, hanging from a mango tree in the Dallimore area. While many believe that Akindunbi took his own life, some residents are skeptical about the circumstances surrounding his death.

Onlookers observed that the position of Akindunbi’s body on the tree didn’t seem to suggest that he hanged himself. A few residents have speculated that he may have been murdered and then hanged in an attempt to cover up any traces that could lead to his killers.

Sources in the area have claimed that Akindunbi may have been killed at night, as he was last seen at 8 pm on Friday. Others have suggested that his recent break-up with his girlfriend may have driven him to take his own life. However, the exact cause of his death remains unknown at this time.

The Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the incident and announced that they have commenced an investigation into the matter.
