LP’s new national leadership vows to reclaim Obi’s mandate

The new National Working Committee (NWC) of the Labour Party (LP), led by Alhaji Lamidi Bashir Apapa, has announced its unwavering support for a new Nigeria under the party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi. The LP NWC also vows to recover Peter Obi’s ‘mandate’ through peaceful and legal means that were allegedly denied by INEC during the 2023 general election.

In a statement released in Abuja yesterday, the national publicity secretary of the Labour Party, Dr. Arabambi Abayomi, urged Nigerians at home and abroad to have faith in the NWC’s leadership. Apapa promised that the LP NWC and NEC would unveil detailed strategies aimed at recovering the people’s mandate that is now hanging before the Presidential Election Tribunal.

The statement further reads that the LP NWC is complying with the FCT High Court Interim Injunction Order that restrained Mr. Julius Abure and three others from parading themselves as National Officers of the Labour Party (LP) on 4th April 2023.

“The new Labour Party (LP) National Working Committee, NWC, under the able leadership of Alhaji Lamidi Bashir Apapa, has declared its unwavering support for a new Nigeria and the LP-Peter Obi 2023 Presidential Election Victory Mandate Recovery denied it by the INEC declaration.

“LP’s acting national chairman has assured Nigerians, both at home and in the Diaspora, to have faith in the new NWC and its leadership to achieve the desires of Nigerians for a progressive, prosperous, and stable Nigeria.”

The LP NWC urges Peter Obi and all the party’s stakeholders and Nigerians to be steadfast as the leadership of the party is committed to recovering the mandate of the Labour Party during the 2023 presidential election currently in the Presidential Election Tribunal.

“Alhaji Lamidi Apapa stated that the LP NWC and NEC shall unveil detailed strategies aimed at recovering the people’s mandate that is now hanging before the Presidential Election Tribunal.

The LP NWC pledges to unveil its national programs that will impact the welfare and wellbeing of Nigerians and Nigeria going forward. The statement also enjoins party members to conduct themselves in a civilized manner at all times.

The LP’s new National Working Committee is committed to recovering Peter Obi’s mandate and repositioning the party for the good of Nigerians. The LP NWC promises to work diligently and tirelessly to ensure a progressive, prosperous, and stable Nigeria
