CLEEN Foundation and National Institute of Police Studies (NIPS) during the week , trained a few selected Police Officers from different Commands on ‘prevent’ approach to reducing crimes in the country.
The just concluded 5 days training workshop tagged, “Train The Trainers Training On PREVENT” held in Abuja commenced on Monday, March 27th and ended on Friday, March 31st, 2023.
In his welcome remarks, CLEEN Foundation Executive Director (ED), Mr Gad Peter said the training was aimed at building capacity of officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Community Policing in Nigeria.
“CLEEN Foundation in collaboration with National Institute of Police Studies organized 5 days Train the Trainers workshop on PREVENT to build the capacity of officers of the Nigeria Police Force on PREVENT approach to community policing in Nigeria.
“The Train The Trainers workshop is a continuation of the preventing serious organized crime project in Nigeria with support from TAG International and funding from UK Home office.
“The project aims to reduce serious organized crime in Nigeria through PREVENT approach to community policing that involves the whole of the society.”
Speakers at the training included DIG. Hafiz Mohammad Inuwa of Training Department of the Nigeria Police Force; Mr Nnamdi Odo, Program Officer (Monitoring and Evaluation) of CLEEN Foundation and Trevor, a Consultant who took the trainees on, “Roles and Responsibilities of a Trainer.”
Others were ACP. Grace Longe of Directorate of Research and Policy, National Institute of Police Studies (NIPS) and CSP. Ebere Amarizu, National Coordinator, Police Campaign Against Cultism and OtherVices (POCACOV).
