Adamawa Guber: Binani should concede defeat – Chief Press Secretary

Must read

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Adamawa state, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou, has advised the APC Governorship candidate, Sen Aishatu Binani, to concede defeat in the just concluded governorship election in the state. Responding to Binani’s allegations of irregularities, Wonosikou said it is clear that she is not going to win the election.

Wonosikou also denied Binani’s claim that House of Assembly election results in Madagali, Michika, and Hong local government areas were announced in favor of Governor Fintiri. He further noted that when Binani was awarded the contract to print ballot papers, no accusations were made against her.

The Chief Press Secretary also stated that INEC used iREV results in some cases during the election, and that the ballot papers for Assembly elections are different from those used for Governorship elections. He argued that it is impossible for Assembly results to be declared for Governorship results.

Binani has yet to respond to the advice to concede defeat. Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the PDP was leading in the election before it was declared inconclusive due to alleged irregularities. A rerun election has been scheduled in some polling units in the state.
