Guber election: Eke lauds Abia people’s dodgedness in displacing PDP, it’s misrule

Daniel Eke, an ex-Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress from Abia state, has applauded the people of the state for demonstrating dodgedness in electing Dr Alex Otti as the new Abia Governor at the concluded gubernatorial election.

The party stalwart also congratulated Dr Alex Otti, on his emergence as the new Governor-elect of the state at the just-concluded gubernatorial election that took place on Saturday, 18th March, 2023 by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

AFRIPOST earlier reported that independent National Electoral Commission had on Wednesday, declared Alex Otti as winner of the governorship election in Abia state by the Independent National Electoral Commission on resumption and conclusion of collation of results of the state governorship seat election from the last local government area, obingwa.

Otti polled a total of 175, 467 votes cast to beat his closest rival and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okey Ahiwe, who scored 88,529 votes to come second position at the concluded poll on Wednesday.

This was declared by the INEC Returning officer for Abia State, Professor Nnenna Oti.

While earlier reacting, Eke in a statement on Friday, said Otti’s emergence as the Governor elect and winner of the recently-concluded state governorship election was the collective will of Abia people who had longed for effective, purposeful and responsive leadership at all levels of leadership in the state.

He noted that the new state governor-elect possessed the required capacity, competence and expertises to address most of the fundamental challenges impeding the transformation of Abia State, and called on the people of the state to cooperate and support the incoming government to be able to implement his developmental plans.

Eke lauded Otti for his consistency, committment and determination in the already-achieved efforts in liberating the state from shackle of underdevelopment, executive recklessness, legislative redundancy and unavoidable corruption.

He regretted that successive government in Abia has failed to achieve tangible economic and Infrastructural developemental strides to improve the devastating situation of affairs in the state.

The former Gubernatorial hopeful further confided that, with Otti’s election as the new Governor-elect of Abia state, people of the state shall witness uncommon transformation in every critical sector of her economy, in order to enhance people’s welfare in every part of Abia state.

While further urging aggrieved candidates in other different political parties to accept defeat in good faith and join hands with the Governor-elect in developing Abia, Eke urged the labour party gubernatorial flagbearer, Alex Otti to be magnanimous in victory and involve the rivals who wish to work with him in scheme of things in the state.
