Ademola Adeleke remains Osun governor as Appeal Court upholds his election

Must read

In a recent development, the Appeal Court has upheld the victory of Ademola Adeleke in the Osun State gubernatorial election, affirming him as the duly elected governor of the state. The court’s decision came after a series of legal battles between Adeleke, who contested under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and his opponent, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Furthermore, the court has also awarded a fine of N500,000 against Gboyega Oyetola and the APC for filing an appeal without valid reasons. This serves as a warning to politicians and political parties to adhere to electoral laws and regulations, and avoid seeking frivolous legal actions that may be a waste of time and resources.

Governor Ademola Adeleke can now continue with his administration’s plans and programs to improve the welfare of the people of Osun State, while the opposition parties can focus on contributing positively to the state’s development, rather than engaging in unnecessary political battles.
