Cleric, others docked for alleged internet fraud in Kwara

The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 28 suspected “Yahoo Boys” in the capital city of Kwara State. The arrest was made in the Mandate Area of Ilorin following intelligence gathered on fraudulent activities in the area.

Among those arrested were a cleric, twin brothers, six students from different institutions, a mining operator, and other individuals. Some of the suspects were identified as Toheeb Albarka, Lambe Kehinde and Lambe Taye, Francis Stephen, Olabode Yusuf, Moshood Okunola, Kayode Aderemi, and Ayobami Olorunfemi, who are all undergraduates.

Other suspects included Olaleye Solomon (Miner), Akinade Samuel, Damilola Shagaya, Muhammed Awal, Adam Mubaraq, Ogundiran Nathaniel, Jamiu Ishola, Dauda Tunde, Abdullahi Sikiru, Kasali Adegoke, Jordan Adeyinka, and a driver, Ojeniyi Boluwatife. Adedamola Samson, Olarewaju Taofeek, Adewale Oloro, and Omogbolahan Ibrahim were also among the arrested suspects.

The EFCC recovered 10 exotic cars, various brands of laptop computers, cell phones, printers, and other items from the suspects. The agency stated that the suspects would be arraigned in court once the ongoing investigations are completed.
