Must read

Suspected Hoodlums allegedly attacked and set ablaze a section of the St. Andrews Catholic Church, Amagu, Amaezekwe, in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

A resident of the area who identified himself as Chief Christopher Ngwuta said the priest, Rev. Fr. Nonso Nwonu escaped being killed during the attack by hoodlums describing his escape as God’s grace.

He alleged that the attack was carried out following the open endorsement of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Governorship candidate, Prof Bernard Odoh by the Priest.

“The thugs struck at about 4:00a.m before the morning mass. They burnt and destroyed several properties of the Church. Our suspicion is that the attack was carried out by some political thugs loyal to a leading political party in tbe State.

“The attack was carried out shortly after few days the Catholic Priest endorsed APGA candidates. Everybody in this community is afraid of mentioning their names because we don’t know their next plans,” he said
