Lagos govt shuts Chrisland school over death of student, Whitney Adeniran

The Lagos State government has ordered that Chrisland School in Opebi, Ikeja, be shut down immediately following the death of a student, Whitney Adeniran.

Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo on Sunday said the school would remain shut pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation on the cause of the young girl’s death.

The official commiserated with the family and friends of the deceased and prayed for the repose of her soul.

While calling for calm, Adefisayo, however, assured that “no effort will be spared in investigating the incident”.

The father of the late 12-year-old student had called for an investigation into the daughter’s death in a statement.

Michael Adeniran is claiming that there was no health condition with her daughter prior to her sudden death. She said her daughter was hail and hearty when the school bus picked her for inter-house sports activities last Thursday.
