The Diocesan Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria, in Ebonyi State, Rt. Rev. Lawson Elom has made a case for Peter Obi, charging Ndigbo to vote for the Presidential Candidate of the Labour party (LP), in the forthcoming election.

Elom, urged church members and all citizens of Ebonyi state, to get their permeant Voters Cards, PVCs, for a credible candidate that will transform the country and reduce the sufferings of all Nigerians to emerge.

He made this known while delivering a sermon titled, “Worshipping God in truth and in Spirit” which took place at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.

The clergy frowned at the current hardship and sufferings that Nigerians are passing through, especially with the food, fuel and new Naria notes scarcities, which he said were wreaking havoc on the citizens.

He, however, called on Nigerians, especially the Christians to trust, believe and continue to worship God in truth and in Spirit, assuring that, God will surely deliver them from the current challenges they are passing through.

According to him: “Any Igbo person that fails to vote for Peter Obi is a traitor to Igbo nation, if you come to the state, vote for a credible candidate that will not endanger our lives. Vote for a candidate that will not deal with civil servants.

“Vote for a credible candidate that will not entrench cultism. We don’t want Jeroboam again. Vote for the candidate that will not use guns and scorpions to deal with us. We are talking about leaders and their exploitation.

“For the House of Representatives, Senate, State Assembly, and Governorship, vote individuals based on their capacity to deliver no matter the political party.
He, however, frowned at the continuous owing of salaries by leaders, especially in the private sector.
