A new poll by Stears Nigeria has seen Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, as the favourite candidate to win the 2023 election with 41% lead ahead of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The pole also considers Tinubu as the candidate with the most silent voters and may emerge victorious if there is a low turnout during the election.
Tinubu and Atiku are following Obi closely at 31% and 20%, respectively.
36% of the respondents, however, prefer to remain silent.
Stears, in a poll released on Tuesday, stated that “poll covers 6,220 respondents across Nigeria’s 36 States, making it the largest telephone-based electoral poll in Nigeria.”
The pollsters noted that “Stears prediction model believes that Tinubu has the most silent voters i.e. people who intend to vote for Tinubu but choose not to disclose this during an interview.”
