Abia South: Ikpeazu flags off senatorial campaign, promises responsive representation

Okezie Ikpeazu, the Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) Senatorial candidate for Abia south district in the coming national assembly election in February 2023, and the Governor of Abia state, has assured to render effective, efficient and responsive representation to the people of Abia south zone as he currently seeks election in the upper legislative chamber of the national asssembly come feburary 2023.

He made the pledge during the formal flag-off ceremony of his senatorial campaign in ukwa west local government area which took place at Obehie central school.

Ikpeazu reechoed the call on the eligible voters cum  electorates in Abia south senatorial zone to queue behind the  PDP in the fast approaching general elections across the state by the Nigeria’s electoral commission and reiterated he is undeterredly committed to improving on the records of his predecessors.

While also calling on the constituents of Abia south senatorial district to massively cast their votes for the ruling PDP in the state in coming execrise billed between feburary and march this year across all states in Nigeria federation, Governor Ikpeazu further said he has ensured his government favoured people of ukwa west in the area of appointments and restoration of electricity in the Abia local area among rest of others.

Meanwhile, the leaders and critical stakeholders in Abia State chapter of  the Party, have canvassed maximum supports for the senatorial bid of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu ahead of the national assembly elections across all states of the federation next month.

X-raying on the governor’s quest to become a federal lawmaker after the expiration of current second term in office on 29th of May, 2023 during an interview on Wednesday, shortly the event, party chieftain and the PDP house of representatives candidate for ukwa east and ukwa west federal constituency seat in Abia state, Chief Chris Nkwonta pledged the avowed committments and steady support of members of th party to delivering the Abia helmsman and the Abia south senatorial standard-bearer of the PDP as next occupant of the revered upper legislative seat of the Nigerian national assembly come this year, opining ikpeazu possessed the requisite legislative attributes, and capacity to drive rapid transformation in the senatorial zone through attraction of impactful socio-economic and Infrastructural  projects and amenities to enhance livelihoods and improve development at various local areas and communities that formed present Abia south if given the needed maximum votes to emerges as the representative of Abia south senatorial district in senate chamber.

Also speaking with a cross section of journalists on the same backdrops of trending political development,  the PDP House of Assembly candidate for Ukwa West constituency seat in Abia state house of Assembly, Hon Godwin Adiele reiterated the committment and readiness of the party to clinch majority numbers of political positions come feburary and march 2023 elections and described the emergence of Governor Ikpeazu as the Abia south senatorial candidate of the PDP as the best thing that happen to the people of the district.

While lauding Governor Ikpeazu’s entry into the 2023 senatorial race for Abia south district seat, Adiele confided the governor when elected into the red chamber (senate) will replicate most of his current giant strides already in credit, ranging from enhanced economic development, impoved Infrastructural growth, effective Security archiecture in curbing acts of criminality and terror, impoved standard of Abia education system, effective and efficient healthcare delivery system, constructed road network in many parts of Abia, establishment of Enyimba Economic City wherein it provided conducive environment for small and medium scale business enterprises (SMEs) and too numerous of others not mentioned.

In their respective speeches at the venue of the ceremony, the commisioner for Elenvironment, Barrister Sam Nwogu, the Deputy Chief of Staff in Office of the Deputy Governor, Don Ubani and ex-member of the Old Imo State House of Assembly, Dame Victoria Akanwa des as a declaration of total support for Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to enable him provide the needed quality representation as the incumbent Senator has not shown true representation to the people.

The Abia party chieftains said the Governor has done well as well as restored their electric light and assured him of massive votes next month, saying that they have implicit confidence in him.
