Must read

The Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State, Professor Greg Ibe has assured to surpass the achievements of the Late Premier of Eastern Region, Late Michael Okpara and the Governor of old Imo state, Sam Mbakwe respectively when given the opportunity to emerge next governor in 2023.

In a statement on Monday, marking the new year, Prof Ibe who doubled as the Chancellor and Founder of Gregory University Uturu, Abia State, also expressed appreciation to God for his unfailing faithfulness to people of the state and poured encomiums on Abia illustrious sons and daughters for their doggedness and unparalleled spirit of industry, which according to the renowned educationist enabled them creatively and innovatively survive the hardest and harshest seasons of the life span of God’s Own state.

The statement was issued on Monday by the Director, Media/Publicity of Greg Ibe Campaign Orgainsation, Mr Sleek Ogwo in Umuahia, the state capital.

While welcoming the people of Abia State to 2023, Ibe stated the state stands on the threshold of history as general elections draw nearer and admonished the electorates in the state to make a clear distinction from their unpalatable past experience by massively voting for APGA in the forthcoming general elections in the state.

“It is time to make a clear distinction from the unpalatable past experience of woes signposted by non-payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities and restore the past glory of our region, which under the great Dr. Michael Okpara was renowned as the fastest growing economy in Nigeria. A feat that was replicated by De Sam Mbakwe in the old Imo state, through the establishment of many cottage industries.

His words: “I assure you if by the grace of God and your mandate, I am elected governor on March 11, 2023, I will surpass the achievements of both Dr M.  I Okpara and De Sam Mbakwe by leveraging my extensive global contacts to attract direct foreign investment to our state and thereby, create industrial parks in strategic locations, empower Abia youths with competitive skills, maximize our God-given resources for the benefit of the people and thereby reinstate Abia as God’s Own State and Aba as the Japan of Africa.

He continued “God endowed me with all it takes to produce something remarkable from absolutely nothing and anyone in doubt should check out my records with Skill G. Ltd and Geogory University Uturu. I am rearing to replicate the same triumphing feat in our Abia State”.

Ibe however charged people of the state to prayerfully embrace the new year with hope and confidence and expectations in anticipation of the emergence of a brand new Abia that will manifest with limitless possibilities once they elect him into the office of governor.
