Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has showered accolade on his nephew, popular Afrobeats singer, Davido, following his beautiful performance at the closing ceremony of the World Cup held in Qatar.
The singer, who had been away from social media activities after the death of his first son, Ifeanyi, made his second official appearance and first major performance at the just-concluded football tournament.
He gave a thrilling performance of Better Together (Hayya Hayya) alongside Aisha and others at the Lusail Iconic Stadium, just north of Doha on Sunday.
Expressing his joy over the performance, he shared a video that captured his nephew, with his family watching and enjoying Davido’s performance.
Adeleke said he was proud of his nephew.
He appreciated the “E Choke” crooner also for duly representing his state and country on the global football stage.
“Myself and the beautiful people of Osun love you @davido. We all watched your performance live and you put a smile on our faces.
“Thank you for representing the nation yet alone the state of Osun,” said the governor.
