NSCDC arrests fake black market dollar operators

The Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad of the National Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has arrested two fake dollar market operators involved in printing, sales and distribution of fake US dollar notes.

The arrested suspects are Ya’u Muhammed ‘M’, 65 years old, from Bauchi State, Warji LGA and Lamido Usman ‘M’ age 29yrs, from Taraba state La’u LGA.

It was gathered that the syndicate have been operating for about ten years within Mararaba under bridge, by HEART PLAZA, Karu Local Government district of Nasarawa State before luck ran out of them.

NSCDS Director of Public Relations, Olusola Odumosu disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja.

Also, the duo have swindled and defrauded many individuals, millions of naira under the guise of black market operators.

Further, they were reportedly exchanging Nigerian naira to US Dollars thereby issuing fake dollar notes to their unsuspecting victims.

But through a clandestine raid, the suspects were smoked out of their hideout and subsequently arrested using the sum of N250,000 to disguise in exchange for US dollars.

Items recovered from two arrested members of the syndicate are $15,400 fake US Dollars, one first bank ATM card, one screw driver and original $100 dollar note.
