For being denied of sex by his wife, a 54-year-old man, Ojo Joseph, allegedly set his five step children ablaze.
The police has consequently swing into action and has arrested the man who lives in Ondo State.
The incident reportedly happened at Fagun Crescent area of Ondo town.
According to neighbours, the man informed them that he committed the act because his wife offended him over a little misunderstanding, Nation reports.
One of the children was burnt to death while others suffered serious injuries and are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo.
Their mother and the couple’s twin babies escaped with minor injury.
Report claims the man is not the father of the five children but the father of the twins.
SP Funmilayo Odunlami, the Ondo Police spokesman, said the father was arrested for a case of alleged arson and murder.
The suspected will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
