Niger State Governor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello has presented a budget of N238, 924,457, 782.47 billion for the 2023 fiscal year higher than 2022 by 2.96 percent.
The 2022 budget was N225, 148,340,230.30 whose performance is tagged at 46.73 percent as at September.
Presenting the budget before the state House of Assembly, Bello said the 2023 appropriation bill was the 2023 budget estimate was painstakingly prepared after due engagements and consultations with the people of Niger State in six different centers across the three Senatorial.
He said the 2023 Budget Proposal is made-up N91,044,745,351.31 or 38.11% of the expected total revenue as recurrent expenditure, while N147,879,712,431.16 representing 61.89% is proposed for capital expenditure.
According to him,” the 2023 Budget is aimed at completion of projects at advanced stages, increase internal revenue generation, maximization of our potentials and encouragement of private sector participation in the development of the State”.
“To this end, the budget will focus on security, agriculture, Infrastructural Development, Education, Health Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Investment, Promotion, Environmental, Sustainability, Women, Youth and People with Special Needs”.
