The Flamingo on Tuesday were defeated by the under 17 side of Colombia in the Semi-FInals of the FIFA U-17 female World Cup.
The match ended without a goal in the duration time, but it was Colombia who won the match after the Nigerian who missed the penalty against United States relunctantly played the ball into the hands of the goalkeeper.
The game ended 5:6 on penalties in favour of the Colombia side.
The Colombian side dominated the game and dictated the pace until the end of the regulation time.
Recall that Nigeria had defeated the United States to qualify for the Semi-Finals of the tournament.
The coach employed the same approach after he too the first choice goalkeeper out as he he did in the game against the United States.
Though the keeper was able to save a kick, it was not enough to save the team from being sent out of the tournament.
