Fear as US Embassy drops hint on terrorists’ plans to attack Abuja, others

The united States Embassy in Abuja, has said sent out caution over an alleged elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, especially in Abuja.

Issuing a security alert to its nationals, the United States Embassy said targets may include, but are not limited to, government buildings, places of worship, schools, markets, shopping malls, hotels, bars, restaurants, athletic gatherings, transport terminals, law enforcement facilities, and international organizations.

“The U.S. Embassy will offer reduced services until further notice,” the United States Embassy said.

The Embassy, however, cautioned its nationals against non-essential travel or movement, urging then to stay alert, avoid crowds and review their personal security plans.

They were also told to keep their mobile phones charged in case of eventuality or due to any emergency. They are to always go about with proper identification.
