Apostle Johnson Suleman has reacted to the attack on his convoy by some unknown gunmen in Delta State on Saturday, linking the attempt in his life and his family to an incident that happened in 2017.
Though the apostle was not clear about the incident, there was an allegation against the man of God in 2017 by one Stephenie Otobo who later came out to clarify that she was paid by a politician to lie against the man of God.
Recall that gunmen on Friday attacked the convoy of the popular and fairy cleric, leaving 7 persons dead, while the apostle and his wife and children escaped unhurt.
In an approximately 3 minutes video, the apostle said those who were contracted to attack him knew nothing about the 2017 incident and they were wasting their time because they can’t kill him.
Johnson who did not mention a particular incident said after their lies failed in 2017, they have now come after his life.
He said gunmen attacked him and his family, shattering his car with bullets but that he escaped. He informed those worried about his safety that he is alive and prayed for those who lost their loved ones.
The police had earlier confirmed the incident.
According to the Edo State Police Command spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, while the apostle escaped unhurt, three policemen and two civilian drivers attached to the Apostle were killed in the attack.
The police also confirmed the killing of a domestic worker while it is still in search of a second domestic worker.
The police command further disclosed that the DPO of Auchi Division and his team mobilised to the scene of the incident when the information got to the and brought down one of the gunmen.
Manhunt for the fleeing criminals is currently ongoing.
Sources said the attack came when Suleman was returning from a foreign trip.Th e gunmen laid ambush for him along the Benin-Auchi road.
The apostle has been very vocal on the state of affairs in the country particularly the dwindling economy and general poor leadership.
He had spoken severally against the issue of Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress and had taken a position on the side of equity and justice.
He had recently called on Christians to reject the alleged plot to Islamize Nigeria.
The apostle had in the past been involved in different controversial news with allegations of having affairs with church members. He had since denied all the allegations and said he was not interested in what anyone says. He had told his transducers to go and hug the transformer.
