Officers of the Lagos State Police Command have teargassed protesters currently holding a procession to mark the second anniversary of the October 2020 killing of EndSARS protesters at the Lekki tollgate.
The protester marching through the tollgate as part of events to mark the anniversary, were allegedly attacked by the heavily armed policemen deployed to man the tollgate.
A number of celebrities, including Folarin Falana, a Nigerian musician better known as Falz, were leading the procession on Thursday.
Recall that a protest tagged EndSars shook political leaders to their foundation 2 years ago, leading to the destruction of houses and properties belonging to top politicians in Lagos State.
Many young Nigerians who participated in the protest also lost their lives.
The protest was initially targeted at police brutality under the current administration but was allegedly hijacked by hoodlums.
