Fear gripped parents who have their children in Kingdom Heritage Model School located in the Jahi area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Monday when they rushed to pick up their children following a tanker explosion near the school.
Kingdom Heritage Model School is owned by David Oyedepo’s Living Faith Church, aka Winners Chapel.
The incident occurred at about 11:30 am when a tanker loaded with diesel tipped over on its way to supply a gas station in the area and went up in flames, causing a commotion in the area as parents thronged the school to get their children.
The school management had sent out a ‘distress message’ to the parents to come for their children after the explosion.
Many parents had misunderstood the nature of the explosion and had thought that the school and the church were under attack following the nationwide insecurity
The FCT Fire Service, however, put out the raging fire after racing to the scene of the explosion which a few meters away from the school.
Report claims no life was lost to the incident.
