Kwara SDP senatorial candidate, Wale reveals how he will represent district

Kwara South Senatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 general elections, Professor Wale Suleiman has promised to pursue legislation that will ensure Nigerians have access to quality education and health care services.

Suleiman who is a world-renowned neurosurgeon and recipient of Federal government Commander of Order of Niger (CON) award spoke at a reception organized in his honour at his country home, Ajase- Ipo, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara state at weekend.

“My parents had no western education, they cannot read and write. The Nigerian government paid for my medical education and today I have become a Neurosurgeon and recipient of CON award, were it not for the scholarship I enjoyed my story would have been a different one today,” he said at the palace of the Olupo of Ajase- Ipo.

He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari and the national awards selection committee.

Suleiman, said he was elated to be amongst the 570 receipts of CON awards so far conffered on Nigerians by the federal government since 1963 when the national award act was instituted despite not being a public office holder or member of ruling political party.

“That again is the reason why I have a strong conviction that my decision to venture into politics is ordained by God,” he said .

Speaking further, the SDP senatorial candidate noted that Nigeria requires quality representation at both chambers of the national assembly to promote good governance and address myriads of challenges confronting the nation.

He assured that if elected as senator, he would pursue quality representation that will uplift the lives of his people and Nigerians as a whole adding that education and quality health care will continue to top his agenda.

Suleiman urged all those with their permanent voter cards (PVCs) to go out enmass and vote for all SDP candidates in the 2023 general elections, assuring that with the electronic transmission of results introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), their votes will count.

In their remarks, Kwara SDP state Chairman, Alhaji Isiak Abdulazeez, and a chieftain of the party, Chief Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo charged the people of Kwara South to vote SPD in the 2023 general elections and also embark on ” door-to-door campaign.”

Personalities present at the event, were the Director General National Broadcasting Commission NBC, Alhaji Bashir Bolarinwa, and Alhaji Kale Belgore, a fomer Counsellor to governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq amongst others.
