Development Scheme: Abia nominees graduate in FG training on Solid Mineral Processing

Nominees from Abia State have graduated from Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development on Solid Minerals Processing Training held in Abuja, the nation’s federal capital territory.

The Abia indigenes were facilitated and sponsored for the federal training scheme by the Abia gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 general elections and the immediate past Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah (OON).

Addressing the Abia beneficiaries during the graduation ceremony held in Abuja, the former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Ogah, who was represented by the State Representative at the Federal Character Commission, Mr Henry Ogbulogbo, explained that the training programme on Solid Mineral Processing was designed by the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development in collaboration with the World Bank, has trained some youths across the Nigeria federation in order to make them become self-reliant and self-dependent, as it also stated was in line with effort by the federal government to promote the processing of solid minerals in the country.

It was contained in a release made available to journalists in Umuahia, the Abia capital on Monday.

His words: “the project is one of the federal government’s initiatives in the development of the downstream sector towards the diversification of the economy through solid mineral resources.

“The Ministry’s 2919 report indicated that Gemstone from the country worth over three billion naira is being exported annually at unofficial low rates hence the need for the training”.

Ogah advised the graduands to leverage on the opportunity to support the nation’s economy and transfer the knowledge to others in their respective states to enhance the nation’s GDP

Appreciating Dr Uche Ogah on the uncommon gesture, one of the beneficiaries of the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development on Solid Mineral Processing Training Scheme, Hon Christie Uche Nwoke said that she would put to use the experience she garnered from the solid mineral processing training in establishing herself further in order to be self-reliant.

AFRIPOST reports that the beneficiaries of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development Solid Mineral Processing Training from Abia are; Lady Onyeagba Chibugo Queen from Umunneochi Local Government Area, and Hon Christie Uche Nwoke from Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state.

However, the ex-Minister and main Abia 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Uche Ogah has reiterated the unwavering commitment, passion and zeal to enhancing the welfare of the populaces, assuring to rewrite the narratives in  development of Abia through raising the bar in state’s economy and infrastructure, encourage and provide  conducive environment for wealth creation, and improving development other critical sectors of the natural livelihoods in Abia State when elected into office in 2023.

He made the pledge while reeling out his developmental agendas and policy thrusts to foster and guarantee better lives for the people of Abia States, as he seeks their mandate to be elected governor in the forthcoming general elections in 2023 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
