Branches of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, will conclude their traditional voting over the ongoing strike by the union today and make an announcement tomorrow, Thursday.
There are reports that the union has called off the strike, but check by AFRIPOST confirmed the news to be false.
Our reporter gathered that the decision of the various branches after a vote will be sent to the National Executive Council for final decision which is likely to hold tomorrow.
The latest development follows the meeting with the speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who called several meetings between the union and the Federal Government.
Recall that many stakeholders, including the ASUU chairman, Emmanuel Osodeke, have expressed optimism that the strike will be called off in a matter of days.
ASUU strike had lasted for 8 months with several failed negotiations.
The student union, NANS had protested on several occasions in order to force both ASUU and the government to resolve their differences to no avail.
