Okezie Ikpeazu, the Governor of Abia State, has inaugurated the Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Council ahead of the coming general elections in the state.
He charged members of the PDP Campaign Council to lead the party’s total victory in the forthcoming election by the Independent National Electoral Commission in 2023.
Governor Ikpeazu while inaugurating the PDP Campaign Council at Senator Theodore Orji International conference center in Umuahia, the state capital, also charged the council members to approach the forthcoming elections with the seriousness it deserves and shun complacency.
He urged aggrieved party faithful in the state to sheathe their sword and support the party to victory as the Peoples Democratic Party has all it takes to protect the interest of all members.
Governor Ikpeazu reminded council members that they were supposed to sell the party’s message for next year’s general elections as they were carefully selected since they can harness the resources to win the 2023 elections.
He pledged to support the council with necessary logistics to make their job easier, assuring the leadership of the PDP of total victory in 2023 elections.
Also speaking, the Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Candidate for the 2023 general elections in Abia State, Professor Uche Ikonne applauded Governor Ikpeazu for the credible way he has managed the affairs of the state and the party in extension, promising to improve and consolidate on the laudable strides recorded by the present administration.
He also pledged to key Abia into all national and international policies and programmes, adding that the council has the mandate to deliver all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 general elections.
Earlier in his speech, the Abia State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Rt. Hon Alwell Asiforo Okere said that all members of the party are automatic members of the campaign council, disclosing that the campaign council was structured into the state, local government, wards and unit levels.
According to the PDP chairman, “the mandate of the council is to deliver all candidates of the party at all levels, added that members of the council are expected to lead campaigns in various local government areas, wards and units, while the Local Government Executive Chairmen of the seventeen LGAs are expected to inaugurate campaigns at their various local government areas by next week”.

Barrister Okey Igwe, House of Representatives member, Hon. Uko Nkole, Abia Senatorial Candidate of the PDP, Col. Austin Akobundu (Rtd), Secretary to Government, Barrister Chris Ezem and rest of other PDP leaders in Abia state.
