A chieftain of the Action Peoples Party (APP), Prince Nnanna Kalu Onwuka, has frowned at the developmental backwardness of Abia state and regretted that the Peoples Democratic Party-led administrations in the state have failed to justify the mandates entrusted to them by the electorates for the past twenty years.
He reiterated that APP is poised, and well-positioned to wrest power from the PDP and form the next government in the state in 2023, to be able to bring the needed dividends of democracy to the doorstep tops of every Abia people, regretting that enough had been achieved to raise the bar in economy and Infrastructure in Abia state.
Kalu Onwuka who doubled as the current chairman of Uche Afara Fans Organization (UAFO), Abia chapter, made his feelings known while answering questions from newsmen on Tuesday in Umuahia, the state capital, further maintained that the Action Peoples Party and its 2023 governorship candidate in the state, Chief Mascot Uzor-Kalu, possessed the requisite capacity, competence and expertise to offer quality leadership and effect genuine transformation in the state’s economy and Infrastructure towards enhancing the welfare of the Abia populaces when elected into Umuahia Government House in 2023.
His words: “APP is ready to take over the mantle of leadership in Abia in order to salvage he suffering masses from PDP misrule in the last 20 years.
“It’s undisputable that all critical institutions of governance in Abia state have collapsed, due to lack of visionary and development-oriented policies and programmes to foster genuine economic growths, and as well as Infrastructural development in all parts of the state”.
Asked to speak also on the rationale behind his support to the state house of Assembly bid of Engr Uche Offor, who is the APP 2023 standard-bearer for Umuahia central constituency seat election in Abia, Prince Nnanna Kalu Onwuka further maintained that the candidate has the wherewithal to attract meaningful projects in the collective efforts to deepen the current democratic process in Umuahia central and indeed, Abia state as a whole.
The Abia party stalwart who also used the medium to reel out some of the developmental plans of the House of Assembly candidate of the Action Peoples Party for Umuahia central constituency seat election, Engr Uche Offor, assured that the latter would among other of his developemental agendas, will sponsor bills and make laws to encourage youths, men and women empowerment and development schemes to enhance their livelihoods, and also make them to become self reliant and self-dependent to cater for themselves and respective families.

“I would want to conclude by advising eligible voters in Umuahia central and the state in general, to make use of their PVC to effect the desired changes, by electing credible people in all leadership positions during the upcoming elections with the much-needed capacity and requisite expertise to speak for them and ensure people feel government’s presence and welfare packages”.
