Igoche emerges Ugbugbu national chairman

Popular grassroots and community enthusiast, Igoche Anthony, has emerged as the new national chairman of Ugbugbu community in Owukpa, Ogbadibo LGA.

Sons and daughters of the community from far and wide converge on the Ofu-Ugbugbu over the weekend to elect thejr new leader that will pilot the affairs of the community in the coming years.

This follows the expiration of the tenure of the formal national chairman, a veteran journalist, Mr Matthew Abah.

The youth leader was unanimously elected with no opposition from any clan within the community. This, attendees aduced to his antecence.

Igoche, a senior staff of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, is renowned for contributing to the development of communities in Owukpa.

Igoche’s contribution to community development manifested most conspicuously when he teamed up with a few others to support the only government secondary school in the community.

Igoche had in his own capacity offered numerous supports to fellow community members in the areas of job opportunity, finance and others.

He is the current chairman of the Lagos branch of the Owukpa Development Association, ODA, and the national chairman of Ai-Ikor Ajima youths.

In his acceptance speech, Ochi as he is fondly called said it was time to work and transform Ugbugbu community. He appreciated the community for finding him worthy of the role.

He said: “There is no time to talk. Let’s hit the ground running and transform our community. We have a job to do.”
