Banditry: Tension in Turji’s enclave again as Air Force drops fresh bombs

Must read

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jet has again launched a fresh attack on the enclave of Zamfara bandit leader, Bello Turji.

Reports said that the notorious bandit narrowly escaped aerial bombardment on his home, Saturday afternoon acting on a security tip-off on a gathering of bandits at Turji’s home for a naming ceremony.

The bandits’ leader was said to have gone for prayers with some of his close associates before the bombardment by NAF.

A source has told Daily Trust that the fighter jet returned to the area around 9am on Monday, dropping at least two bombs.

However, detail of the bombardment is still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, the paper reported that bandits suspected to be from Turji’s camp have launched assault on travelers along Sokoto-Gusau road in Shinkafi, Monday morning.

A resident of Shinkafi, Murtala Wadatau, said the armed men blocked the road at Kwanar Badarawa and Birnin Yero.
