Nigerians now kill at little provocation, police can’t lead war against terrorists – Adejobi

The Nigerian Police has said that Nigerians assault, kill, and abuse one another at the slightest provocation, stating that such has increased the level of crimes in the country.

This was disclosed by Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer during an interview on Channels Tv’s Sunrise Daily on Tuesday.

Disclosing that the police is currently prosecuting over 78,000 cases in court, Adejobi said the reason is that the level of crimes has jumped beyond what it used to be, blaming Nigerians for committing crimes at a slight provocation.

Also speaking on the police roles in fighting insurgency, the police image-maker said with the weapons in possession of terrorists, police can only support the military as it does not have the weapons to confront insurgents.

Adejobi, however, said officers of the force are always with the military in all operations across the country, but they are not supposed to take the lead.
