Nigeria’s Falconet beat Canada 3-1, qualify as best team

Nigeria’s Falconet defeated the Reds of Canada on Thursday (today) at the ongoing Women U-20 World Cup.

The Falconet have performed so well since the commencement of the tournament. They qualified for the quarter finals after defeating France 1-0 and Korea Republic 1-0.

The game against Canada was the last group match and the Nigerians did well by beating the Reds 3-1.

2 goals from Onyenezide and 1 from Olise were enough to defeat Canada this morning.

Canada lost all their 3 matches and are already out of the competition. Also qualified from the group is France who won their last game against the Korea Republic.

The match was played 3am Nigerian time.

With Nigeria’s victory, they will now face the runners up in Group D which has Cup holders Japan, The Netherlands, USA and Africa’s other flag bearer, Ghana.
