Anthony Ehilebo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s Director, New Media has said one of the reasons President Muhammadu Buhari failed as a leader was his ethnic politics.
According to Ehilebo, any leader who dwells so much on primordial sentiments, excluding and undermining the powers of other group of people wil always fail.
Reacting to the current wave of insecurity across the country and the threat of bandits and other terrorists groups to residents of Abuja, the nation’s capital, Ehilebo told AFRIPOST that having all the service chiefs from one part of the country was chiefly responsible for the president’s failure.
He said:
“Buhari’s major failing is ethnocentricity. You can’t have all the service chiefs from one part of the country. If they had spread it, everybody would be checking everybody, but in this case, only one set of people are in charge of the nation’s security, so who will check who?
“When you go against the drain of normalcy, the outcomes are always clear.
“There is no way the outcome would not have been this. No way!
“Thinking as hopeless Nigerians under a failed administration, we need to plan on how to leave this country.
“If a government cannot provide security for its people, what else can it do? We are not talking about the economy yet, we are not talking about the poverty in the land, we are not talking about ASUU strike. The list is long.”
