Men of the Nigerian army have again been attacked by suspected terrorists at a military checkpoint, Thursday night, near Zuma rock in Niger State.
The incident happened near Madalla town, a stone throw from Zuba, along the Abuja-Kaduna highway.
A message shared on WhatsApp cautioned members of the public against going towards the direction.
The message said the entire axis has been locked down, making vehicular movement almost impossible.
It was gathered that the insurgents arrived at the spot some minutes after 7pm and opened fire on the troops, killing some.
The message reads:
Please for those coming to Abuja or going out, please suspend your movement. Right now, bandits attacked the army check point at Zuma rock in Abuja.
“Heavy traffic right now. Please disseminate the information to save lives.”
This is coming a few days after the presidential Guards brigade was attacked in Bwari Abuja.
