Look at me now – Buhari cracks Ahmed Lawan, others

President Muhammadu Buhari cracked the guests who attended the unveiling ceremony of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited in Abuja on Tuesday when he told the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan to look at him when the senate president slightly looked away.

Buhari who was observing protocols, in a hilarious manner, while acknowledging Ahmed Lawan’s presence, said: “The Senate President, look at me now!”

The audience went into wild laughter following the president’s comment. Amused Lawan stood up in respect to the president’s comment.

It would be recalled that Lawan had earlier been endorsed by President Buhari prior to the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Convention that produced Bola Tinubu as the party’s flagbearer.

Lawan went into the contest after the party’s leadership headed by Abdullahi Adamu announced him as the choice of the party.  The decision came after the leading opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, picked Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate.

The 2023 presidential election would be a contest of three popular candidates; Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
