Mr Emmanuel Folorunsho, the Proprietor of a private school in Ilorin, has advocated the need for upgrades of School libraries in the country.
Folorunsho, who made the call in Ilorin on Friday in a chat with pressmen, said most schools need upgraded library to boost their students academic performance.
According to him, most schools had failed to upgrade their libraries with new and modern books and solely rely on outdated books.
“It is not all about having so many outdated books in the library. There is need to buy modern books that can meet up the global standard.
“Any library without modern books is zero. What we call library is not all about the building, fine furniture rather the real books that can impact the students.
“Every school should make library their priority to encourage reading culture among students,” he said.
He however called on education stakeholders to ensure every school invest on their libraries to meet up with standard. (NAN)
