Gunmen have abducted CSP Haruna Abdulmalik, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
A report claims that while on patrol on Thursday, the DPO was abducted off Nasarawa Eggon – Akwanga Road.
The kidnappers have now contacted the family of the victim, and have placed a demand of N5m ransom.
The Nasarawa State Police command is yet to confirm to the report.
Kidnapping has become a major business in Nigeria by criminal elements who have capitalized on the security lapses in the country to abduct unsuspecting members of the public for ransom.
