Ibegbu joins 2023 presidential race under APM, decries Nigeria’s worsening economic challenges

Mazi Chuks Ibegbu, the immediate past spokesman of the apex igbo socio-cultural orgainzation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has announced his intention to run for the seat of President of Nigeria in the 2023 general elections.

The presidential Aspirant also declared to contest the highest elective position in the country on the platform of Allied Peoples Movement (APM) ahead of its presidential primary election.

Ibegbu who also doubled as the Leader of Pan-African Democrats, made the declaration on a mammoth gathering after a consultative meeting at Enugu, with several pro-democracy and supports groups.

It was contained in a release forwarded to AFRIPOST on Thursday evening.

He decried the mournful state of the nation and the sufferings in the land, and also assured Nigerians that he would wipe away their tears if voted into power in 2023.

The APM chieftain also noted that his government shall lay emphasis on human development, science and technology and as well as, massive food production and security.

According to the Abia-born presidential hopeful,  entire youths of Nigeria whose future are on danger want him to come and save them from the shackles of bad governance and sectional leaderships being in the country today.

His words: “i have watched and is pained by the sufferings of my Nigerian people. We have been failed and disappointed over the years. We are now the poverty capital of the world, a nation abundantly endowed.

“My government will reverse this trend. I will restore the pride and dignity of our suffering people. I will wipe away your tears and you will once again be proud to be Nigerians.

“I urge Nigerians to go and get their PVC. Get ready to use it to vote for me in the 2023 presidential elections. You have suffered enough and together we shall salvage our nation”.

Meanwhile, socio-cultural groups in southeast and south south Nigeria of Igbo bloc, have asked ndigbo wherever they reside to reject the Peoples Democratic Party and all its candidates for the 2023 elections at all levels for insulting igbo political dignity at the presidential primaries.

The groups are  Igbo Renaissance, Igbo Progressive Forum, Igbo bu Igbo Congress, Igbo Political Integrity Group and Igbo Ndioma United, was speaking against the outcome of the recently- concluded presidential primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party held at Eagles Square, Abuja.

The ethnic organizations also asked all igbos contesting on the platform of the main opposition political party to withdraw from the race or join other parties else they will be disgraced in the polls.

Their position was contained in a release made available to newsmen on Thursday.
