Kwara first lady begins second phase of pet project, ‘Catch them Young’

Kwara state First Lady, Mrs (Dr) Olufolake AbdulRazaq, has commenced the second phase of her pet project, ‘Catch Them Young’ in the state.

The project is in line with her programme of the right upbringing of the child.

The programme is meant to educate young students in the state’s secondary schools on the evil effects of social vices such as hard drugs, drug abuse, child trafficking, truancy, examination malpractice and cultism among others.

Coordinator of the AA Olufolake Support Group, Mutalib AbdulRazaq, disclosed in Ilorin on Wednesday.

He explained that the programme has become important and worthy, considering the challenges being faced in our society affecting our kids which could later threaten the state and country at large.

Schools have been selected across the three Senatorial Districts of Kwara state with visits to schools educating and sensitising the target audience.

The programme which started in 2019, has awakened the consciousness of students of secondary schools in the state creating awareness on the danger and implications of the involvement of youths in social vices.

Schools visited so far include Kwara Polytechnic Secondary School, Ilorin, Queens School Ilorin, Government Secondary School, Fate, Ilorin, Barakat Secondary School, Ilorin Ansarul Islam Secondary School, Ilorin and JSS Gerewu Ilorin West among others.
