Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, former Lagos State Governor, Bola Timubu and former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi have made list of the last 3 presidential aspirants going to the primary.
Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had earlier submitted five names to president Muhammadu Buhari for consideration as the APC presidential candidate.
The names were submitted in the early hours of Tuesday, with those of Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos; Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers; Yemi Osibanjo, the vice president; Dave Umahi, governor of Ebonyi State and Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti State making the list.
The governors had after meeting with the President said they will return to the villa after meeting with the party’s National Working Committee(NWC) and other stakeholders.
“They picked one from South-East, one from South-South, and three from South-West geopolitical zones in line with their position that power should shift to the South,” a source told Daily Trust.
He said the president is expected to pick from the list.
But a source just told AFRIPOST that only 3 are waiting to slot it out at the primary. He, however, said the situation could likely change even before the exercise begins proper.
