A member of a vigilante group in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja has been set ablaze following an allegation of blasphemy leveled against him.
A video in circulation indicated that the incident occurred on Saturday at the Timber market, Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe -Abuja.
Heavy online discussions and protests are ongoing following the incident as some have continued to compare the incident to a similar one in Sokoto where one Deborah Samuel was killed and burnt to ashes over alleged blasphemy.
A report has claimed that members of the vigilante group who were guarding the timber market had attempted to arrest some persons when one of them was accused of making a comment termed blasphemy.
It’s not clear yet what the man said that triggered the action of the Muslim youths.
The police are yet to react to the report.
