Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC), has said that sensitive electoral materials will no longer go through the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN).
He note that, starting from Ekiti state Governorship election, INEC will stop keeping its sensitive materials with the CBN.
According to him, this decision is to guarantee that electoral materials for the lined up Elections are not compromised.
The INEC Chairman stated this while responding to questions in an ongoing dialogue in elections in Abuja.
Concerned Nigerians and groups have are concerned about the materials being in custody of the CBN. The concern became loud after Mr Godwin Emefiele, indicated interest to run for the office of the president under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
