2023: Ogah reacts to his emergence as APC flagbearer in Abia

The immediate past Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah, has reacted to his emergence as standard-bearer of the All Progressive Congress for the upcoming 2023 general election in Abia state.

AFRIPOST had reported on Friday that Ogah scored 141,952 votes to beat his closest rival, Paul Ikonne who scored 27,054.

Other gubernatorial aspirants include, Chief Ikechi Emenike who polled 9,446, Emeka Atuma with 7,429, Obinna Oriaku with 5,553, Alex Otti scored 2,41, and Daniel Eke who got 1,953 at the keenly contested direct primaries.

Reacting to his victory at the concluded gubernatorial primaries held across 184 electoral wards of the state which was contained in a statement issued to journalists on Friday in Umuahia, Ogah described the outcome of the exercise as a true reflection of the will of the people of Abia State.

He commended teeming supporters, party leaders, and members who trooped out in their numbers to cast their votes and overwhelmingly returned him as the duly elected candidate of the All Progressive Congress for the forthcoming 2023 governorship elections in Abia State.

His words: “It has ended in praise and we return the glory to God almighty for a successful gubernatorial primary election of the All Progressive Congress, here dated 26th May 2022.

“This experience on Thursday further signposts your desire to partner with Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah in the great task of redeeming our dearly beloved Abia state from the stranglehold of the enemy.

“As God is on our side, be rest assured that victory will be ours at the general election”.
