The parents of late Deborah Samuel, a student of Shagari College of Education Sokoto, Sokoto State have stated that they have nothing to say or do over the killing of their daughter.
They explained that regarding her gruesome killing, they had rather left everything in the hands of God, the judge of all.
The father, Emmanuel Garba, when contacted explained that the family had come to terms with what happened to their daughter and had accepted to leave the perpetrators to God as the supreme judge of all.
He also stated that he personally traveled to Sokoto State to bring back home the body of his daughter for burial instead of keeping it in the mortuary as against the Sokoto State government’s insistence that he should leave it for the state.
“I had to bring back my child’s remains home to enable me to bury her because keeping her in the mortuary will not bring her back. I transported her home at my own cost. It is so painful to bury your own child instead of the child burying you”.
The mother of the deceased, Alheri Emmanuel in tears lamented the loss of her child at such a tender age, saying, “We have nothing to say, I am grateful to God. I have given God my heart and may God strengthens me. We were hoping she will grow up being the second child out of seven in institution of higher learning and help us. Because thing are hard for us and this happened. But we have nothing to say, we have left all to God.”
Mrs. Garba was said to have suffered high blood pressure and was unconscious on the death of her daughter, “I am getting better now, I have been discharged from the hospital, where I was rushed to when the news of my daughter came. Kai, it’s so painful”.
The deceased was stoned to death and burnt by her fellow students over purportedly making a blasphemous statement on a WhatsApp group of her school last Thursday and was buried on Saturday in her hometown, Tungan Magajiya in Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State.
