ASUU: Students block Ondo road over prolonged strike

Must read

Aggrieved university students in Ondo State have blocked the Ilesha/Akure road over the continuous strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in the country.
The students from the federal university of technology, Akure, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Olusegun Agagu University of Technology, Okitipupa were in high spirit, saying “enough is enough.”
Lamenting their current situation, some of the students said they won’t leave the road until the needful of calling off the strike was done.
Their action forced many motorists and travelers to be stranded, while others used alternative routes.
ASUU had embarked on the strike after its discussion with the Nigerian government failed regarding their benefits and other things to do to improve universities in the country.
Having explored all avenues for a peaceful resolution of the matter, the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, had ordered all its zonal branches to embark on protests in order to force the government to take action on the continuous strike action.
