A 2023 Senatorial Aspirant for Abia Central District, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, has submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms ahead of the forthcoming primaries of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Ikoh had in January 2022, announced his intention to vie for the office of Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to represent Abia Central Senatorial zone of the State in the 2023 elections.

He stated that he was moved to contest the seat because of his desire to offer quality service to the people of the Senatorial District.

It would be recalled that the Abia-born renowned Industrialist cum Politician, had earlier in 2021, left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the governing APC in Nigeria where he served as a commissioner for Industry under the first term of the incumbent Governor of the State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.

However, after submission of his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the International Conference Center, Abuja on Wednesday 11th May, 2022, which was duly signed by 210 Party delegates from Abia Central Senatorial Zone. Chief Henry Ikoh reiterated his promise for responsive and effective representation if given the support to emerge as standard-bearer of the APC and secure a win in the main general elections in 2023.

He disclosed that his major focus will be centered on Industrialization and Wealth Creation tilted at empowering and developing the constituents in the six local government areas that form Abia Central.

His words: “My main focus will be Industrialization and Wealth creation to enhance the socio-economic and Infrastructural development of Abia Central, Abia and Nigeria in general. This I have demonstrated in my private capacity, using the Harmony Foam Industry as a template and Golden Guinea Breweries which was moribund but is now active, when I was the State Commissioner for Industry.

“So, I have demonstrated capacity because the problem we are having is unemployed youths. Most of the Industries will be sited in the rural communities of the six local government areas in Abia Central Senatorial Zones using also the local raw materials. These are what they should expect from me when supported and elected come 2023.

“I am the most suitable and best candidate among all of us vying for the Senatorial seat and, I have the desire and zeal to contribute my quarter,” Ikoh concluded.
