Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu House of Representatives hopeful, Hon Samuel Odoh Onuh has excitedly said that his journey to the Federal House of Representatives is gradually gathering momentum amongst his constituents.
The Ogbadibo local government Chairman disclosed this during his consultation tours to party delegates and supporters across the three local government areas recently.
Onuh, a record breaker, started his consultations to run for the Ado, Ogbadibo and Okpokwu Federal House of Representatives seat ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of 2023 general elections from his immediate community, Owukpa, where he was overwhelmingly endorsed by the party delegates and stakeholders.
The brain behind the Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom’s 2015 campaign slogan, “Ortomatic” has since purchased his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms and screened to be the first ever Ogbadibo chairman to aspire for the National Assembly seat after leaving office as the Executive Chairman of the Council.
Onuh, in a post on his Facebook page said, “I was successfully screened by my Party, the PDP and given the go ahead to participate in the Primary Election scheduled for May 12th to select the Party’s flag bearer for the Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency seat at the House of Representatives in the 2023 general election.
“This follows my earlier indication of interest, purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms which I duly filled and submitted appropriately.
“I am a believer in God and above all, I also believes power belongs to God and He gives it to whoever He pleases at his own time.
But because God will always achieve His purpose on earth using the instrumentality of men, I’ve commenced the second phase of my interface with delegates and would-be delegates across the 35 Council Wards of the constituency to seek their support towards actualizing this God driven ambition of mine.
“Starting from Owukpa which I regards as my biblical Jerusalem, I met with delegates from the 4 Council Wards and presented my legislative agenda to them. I sought their prayers and support and promised to make them proud as a true son of the soil if given their mandate.
“The reception was overwhelming and the reactions were positive.
They pledged their total support as they believes Owukpa, one of the largest district in Enone is yet to have any of her son or daughter elected into the House of Representatives after so many years of democracy in Nigeria. They believe this is their time and are excited that I have been prepared for such a time as this.
“I know to actualize my dream, I would need the support of like minds, upwardly mobile youths, market women and progressive individuals from the other 10 districts of Enone and I intend to touch down at every of these districts in the coming days.
I use this opportunity to make an advanced plea that as your own, you welcome me with open arms.
“There’s no doubt that as sophisticated, intelligent and highly enlightened people, the social media is the 12th district in Enone and I do not take for granted the support you’ve given me in my current official assignment. I therefore humbly seek your all round support, most especially moral and spiritual in the days ahead for God to crown my effort with success.
“Together we can, as I believe I will receive the enablement to make Enone a better place for all.
