Chelsea has now confirmed their new owner as Todd Boehly.
In a statement on the club’s website on Saturday, they confirmed that payment has commenced as agreed with the new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, and it will be completed in late May.
Boehly will then take full charge of the club after the completion of the sale this month.
The clubs statement read in part: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss, to acquire the Club.
“The sale is expected to complete in late May subject to all necessary regulatory approvals. More details will be provided at that time.”
